Statista Research defines a convenience, or C-store, as a small retail business that stocks a range of everyday items. Snack food, soft drinks, confectionery, tobacco products and toiletries are all a part of the standard C-store offering. However, there’s one food item that’s booming in the C-store category: pizza.
There’s nothing more summer-esque in the United States than a backyard barbecue. Thanks to LloydPans, pizzerias, bakeries, restaurants and foodservice operators can bring the party to their brick-and-mortar establishments, create appetizing grill marks on hamburgers, steaks, seafood, hot dogs and sandwiches regardless of the type of oven used.
It may be a blind taste test, but we’d like to think the pans have something to do with it. It comes as no surprise that New York City’s restaurants were the most frequented awardees, but San Francisco’s Tony’s Pizza Napoletana, a LloydPans customer, was hot on the heels as No. 2.
You’ve finished your pizza party, and now it’s time for dessert. July 30 is National Cheesecake Day, and LloydPans’ Cheesecake Pans are a perfect way to stay on trend with the bake of the summer.
We understand that creating great food items sometimes requires custom solutions. After all, innovation is not something you order out of a catalog. Innovation has the capacity to set trends, to inspire, and also to challenge the way things have always been done before.
Travel down the Mississippi River, and you’ll make your way to the oldest established city on the riverbanks and the hub of the steamboat era: Natchez, Mississippi. Nestled on the border of Louisiana and Mississippi, the temperature and Southern food influence is hotter than the brick ovens that Natchez Brewing Company uses to fire up some of the best — and most Instagrammable — pizzas in the region.
A pizza with ingredients that are more nutritious or healthy? We’re all for it! Apparently consumers are too, as the LloydPans innovation team has been hearing more about pizza makers focusing on crafting pizzas designed to improve various ailments — gut health, for one. Ingredient specialist Eurostar Commodities named probiotic pizza one of the biggest trends in food, and adding functional ingredients to a traditionally indulgent pizza is just another way to lure consumers with a pie that tastes good and is good for you.
Each year, the best pizza makers in the world gather for the International Pizza Challenge at Pizza Expo. Hudson & Packard’s Chef/Owner Charlie Webb was one of them. He brought his trusty 8×10 LloydPans to the competition — and he won second place.
Home cook, baker and pizza maker Billy Zureikat (@therealbillyz) is here to share his story of how a life-changing diagnosis and love for pizza making turned into a movement.
