Let’s get this party started! The third Friday of May is National Pizza Party Day. What’s National Pizza Party Day you ask? Only the best (food) holiday out there. Pizza lovers far and wide are celebrating their love for the slice.
Social media is heating up for National Pizza Party Day, and the anticipation is hot and ready. Pizza makers are testing out their dough skills, pulling out their best pans and topping with their favorite toppings. HISTORY
The origin of the holiday has not been determined, but we’re glad someone started it. According to National Day Archives, National Pizza Party Day is described as “… the celebration designed around the consumption of a lot of pizza.” So in that case, every day is a pizza party day at LloydPans.

It wouldn’t be a pizza party without pizza facts. National Day Archives dishes that Americans eat about 23 pounds of pizza every year, and every second an American orders 350 slices of pizza nationwide. Did you know that since 1997, about two billion pounds of pizza cheese has been produced in the United States? Now that’s a pizza party!

Of course we had to find out who’s celebrating for inspiration. Slice of Vegas Pizza is offering $12, 12” cheese pizzas all day. The famous Lou Malnati’s Pizza has a pizza party giveaway for 10 lucky winners on Instagram!
New York City-based The Doughnut Project and Hormel are partnering for the Cheese the Day doughnut, a pepperoni pizza doughnut inspired by Pepperoni Cup N’ Crisp by Hormel. Cheese the Day is made complete with marinara sauce, mozzarella and pepperoni Cup N’ Crisp, available at the New York location through May 23.
