The San Francisco stop of the sold out Proof Supper Club Tour showcased Chefs Rasheed Philips and Chrissy Tracey, who baked an outstanding sunbaked tomato and za’atar focaccia with butter candles. Thanks to LloydPans 12x14 Detroit-Style Pan and Gozney Pizza Ovens, the untamed night of outdoor dining was a huge success.

Both Chrissy and Rasheed are two East Coasters innovating the culinary scene in their own right: Rasheed, the ultimate pitmaster, and Chrissy, a game-changing vegan chef and forager. They were brought together to fuse Rasheed’s open fire cooking style and unbeatable flavor with some of Chrissy’s plant-based dishes from her debut cookbook—Forage & Feast—to create something truly unforgettable.

The LloydPans Difference

Chrissy chose LloydPans Detroit-Style Pans for the sunbaked tomato and za'atar focaccia because they deliver the perfect combination of durability and even heat distribution.

The sunbaked tomato and za'atar focaccia with butter candles was a playful, interactive element at the event. The butter candles, which slowly melted into the warm focaccia as diners tore pieces, added a layer of richness and drama to an already flavorful bread. The tang of the sunbaked tomatoes and the earthy, herbaceous za’atar created this incredible balance, making each bite feel like a celebration of seasonal ingredients and artistry.

Chrissy, who first heard about LloydPans through fellow chefs who raved about the pans’ versatility and durability, said that she now can’t imagine working without them.

Untamed Outdoor Dining

Proof Supper Club San Francisco guests were surrounded by the rolling hills of wine country with the landscape stretching out like a scene from a postcard at the Cassidy Ranch in Sonoma.

“Dining in such a setting felt like being immersed in the heart of nature, with the beauty of the land enhancing every element of the meal. The family-style tables fostered a deep sense of connection, as everyone shared in the flavors and the ambiance of Sonoma amongst the flower fields,” Chrissy said. “As a plant-based chef and forager, the untamed dining theme really resonated with me. It celebrated the wild, organic beauty of food in its most natural state, aligning perfectly with my ethos of working with the land and honoring the seasons. It was certainly a dining experience to remember.”

Proof Supper Club was inspired by the unforgettable backyard nights of Gozney Founder Tom Gozney, who first discovered the magic of live fire cooking. 

“Tom had struggled with addiction and was looking for a safe way to reconnect with loved ones during his recovery. He built his first pizza oven by hand, brick by brick, in his backyard. After long nights spent around the fire, he witnessed this insane sense of community and connection,” Caitlin Fogarty, director PR & communications of Gozney, said.

Instead of bringing tequila, friends brought toppings. The oven became both a conversation point and a space for everyone to roll up their sleeves and have a go at spinning pizzas, a starting point for today’s global Proof Supper Clubs.
