LloydPans Helps World Pizza Champions Break Guinness World Record

With an assist from LloydPans, President of World Pizza Champions and Owner of Andolini's Pizzeria, Mike Bausch, partnered with the University of Tulsa to set a new Guinness World Record for hosting the World's Largest Pizza Party in Tulsa, Okla. January 21.

The astounding new world record, which consisted of 3,357 people simultaneously eating pizza, triples the 2019 record set in Rome, Italy, of 1,046 people. LloydPans sent 500 10-inch disks for the event, and Bausch said the aim was to make pizza for 3,400.

“We had all of the World Pizza Champions in one place for an upcoming cookbook, as well as the LloydPans,” he said. “I said ‘let’s add more and take on this largest pizza party event.’”

Once the group saw there were other rival attempts at the Guinness World Record, Bausch decided to go even bigger. What’s the most they could ever do?

“With LloydPans, when the World Pizza Champions needed to do the largest pizza party ever, we relied on LloydPans to do it and those disks,” Bausch said. “We used all LloydPans 10-inch disks across the board to make enough pizza to feed 3,400 people simultaneously, tripling the previous record and then some.”

Guinness rules stated that participants must eat two entire slices of a 10-inch pizza with a minimum of three options and a beverage. World Pizza Champions offered pepperoni, cheese and sausage to all participants with an 8-ounce bottle of water. Then, in the ultimate guesstimate of people’s love of pizza, an afterparty was scheduled for those left wanting more. There the pizza makers offered more avant garde pizzas baked on LloydPans, all in a matter of two hours.

The record wasn’t just about pizza — the World Pizza Champions Guinness World Record was also a part of a charitable initiative for Make-A-Wish Oklahoma, granting eight children’s wishes with the $42,090 raised.
